“Good morning, beautiful community of Bed Stuy.

Thank you for showing up for yourselves and this collective endeavor to heal our mind, body, spirit, to heal the community, to heal the world.

As we sit in contemplation, guided by my brother Steven Rousseau, to work together to process the absorbed racialized trauma, which is a shared trauma -- of then, of our ancestors, of now, and what's to come, for black lives and brown lives, and for all lives, around the world.

We'll use our breath, the collective breath for those that could not.

Let's breathe deeply and release all that no longer serves us and the community. By doing so, we make space for the awareness of the multiplicity in all that exists without limitations or judgement.

For the next 30 minutes don't allow yourself to get swept away in the rhetoric on this loving, vibrational, unifying movement. Stay focused on the task at hand. The reason why we are all here.

We no longer can turn away from ourselves, or our brothers and sisters in humanity, because of fear borrowed by those that wish to oppress. Let's use this moment to go within and connect with what we are feeling. Because when you connect with what's inside of you, you raise awareness of your own humanity and can begin to see the humanity in all living things.

So as a community, let's set the intention to finally breathe with ease. Grounding ourselves in the shared possibilities and responsibility to heal. Because the for the liberation of black lives, is a fight for our lives.

Because if one of us cannot breathe, we all eventually suffocate.”
